Putting My Experience
I was born in Merrill, WI and have lived in District 35 all of my life. I was raised here by my hardworking single mother Lisa, my grandmother Mary, and my grandfather Big John. Throughout my life I have gained the experiences needed to represent our people and to bring real solutions to our real problems. I will be able to work to get good legislation passed from day one. This is highlighted by my experience during my time as the Student Government President of the University of Wisconsin - Marathon County. Through that position I was able to help save students' rights to representation under 36.09(5) and to save the Wisconsin Idea by lobbying members of the state legislature, working with individuals across the state, and speaking at our state's capitol.
From the loss of my grandfather to the severe medical issues I have dealt with, I know personally that we need to provide quality, affordable healthcare access to our citizens. I know we need to repair, update, and renovate our education system in Wisconsin so the next generation can find safety and success in this land of prosperity. I know we need to stand up for our Wisconsin and American values by protecting our small businesses, farmers, and environment, and ensuring we are represented by those the voters choose, not those chosen by politicians and the wealthy. Finally, I know we need to bring our state up-to-date on technology through expanding internet access and supporting green innovations. These real solutions will allow us to quickly recover our economy and set us forward on a path of economic growth.
